Mom told me to get my car insured, I said, ” why?” She said, “You might get in an accident.” I said, “Might is a pretty broad area.” She smiled and replied, “If it might happen, wouldn’t you want to be covered by your Ontario auto insurance?” I of course said, “Maybe, but I am not going to get in an accident.” Mom very wisely answered, ” You may be a good driver, but what about everyone else on the road?” I really had no answer for that. So I got the insurance. Eight months later I was hit by a drunk driver, and of course they didn’t carry insurance. Thanks Mom!
